Shire Reeve

This is a game about the sinews of war. It is set in the last decade of King John's reign. While elsewhere he desperately attempts to shore up and restore the Angevin empire, the player is the Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, more bean counter than Hollywood villain, the guy who collects the taxes and fines to pay for the crossbows and mercenaries. Not so glamorous, but you do earn yourself a mention in the Magna Carta.

This solo game requires a deck of playing cards, (ideally) six different colours of dice, and if available, some pieces from chess set (small coins can be substituted).

Format: 7x5 inch postcard on two A4 sheets
